The short answer

For electronics on Amazon.ae, the biggest and most reliable price drops tend to cluster around a few events: Prime Day in the summer, White Friday in late November, and the Ramadan sale. Smaller moves happen around back to school, new model launches and year end. But every product has its own pattern, so the best time to buy a specific laptop or pair of headphones is whenever its own price history says it is low. Below is the calendar, then how to check your product.

The UAE shopping calendar for electronics

Ramadan (dates follow the lunar calendar)

Amazon.ae runs a Ramadan sale every year, and electronics, home appliances and gifts for Eid are a big part of it. Because Ramadan moves about 11 days earlier each year, this sale moves too. In 2027 Ramadan is expected to begin in early February, so expect the sale around late January to February.

Back to school (August to early September)

Laptops, tablets, monitors and accessories get attention before the school year starts. Discounts tend to be more targeted than in the big events, but a good laptop price in August is worth checking against its history.

Prime Day (usually July)

Prime Day is for Prime members and is often one of the strongest events for Amazon's own devices and popular electronics brands. Dates are announced a few weeks ahead. Membership is required for most deals, so check whether the saving on your list is more than what you would pay for a month of Prime if you are not already a member.

New model launches (often September)

When a new phone, console bundle or laptop generation launches, the previous model often gets cheaper. If you do not need the newest version, the weeks after a launch are a good time to watch the older one.

White Friday (late November)

The UAE's version of Black Friday, and for many products the lowest price of the year. It is also when fake discounts are most common, so read our guide to spotting fake White Friday discounts before you shop it.

Yellow Friday and DSF (November to January)

Yellow Friday is noon's November sale, not an Amazon.ae event, but it competes with White Friday and can push prices on both sites. The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) runs from about mid December to January and is mostly about malls and retailers in Dubai, though online stores often run promotions at the same time. If you are comparing, check the same model on both sites and compare the total, including delivery and warranty.

Why the calendar is only half the answer

Sale events are averages across thousands of products. Your product might drop more on a random Tuesday in October than during Prime Day, because a seller cleared stock or a coupon appeared. It might also not be discounted at all during a big event. The calendar tells you when to pay attention. The price history tells you whether to buy.

How to find the best time for your product

  1. Open the product with PriceGate. The chart shows its price over time in AED with the lowest, average and highest price.
  2. Look for past dips. If the chart has a long enough history, see when it dipped before. Dips in July and November usually mean the product follows the big events. Random dips mean coupons or seller changes, and an alert will catch them faster than a calendar.
  3. Set an alert. Set a target near the recent lowest price. PriceGate keeps checking in the background, so you catch the drop whether it happens during a sale or not.
  4. Decide with your deadline in mind. If you need the item now and today's price is near the average, waiting months for a small saving may not be worth it. If you can wait, the alert does the work.

Common questions

When is the cheapest time to buy electronics on Amazon.ae?

Big drops tend to cluster around Prime Day (usually July), White Friday (late November) and the Ramadan sale, with smaller moves around back to school and new model launches. Each product has its own pattern, so check its price history and set an alert.

Is Yellow Friday an Amazon.ae sale?

No. Yellow Friday is noon's November sale. It runs around the same time as Amazon.ae's White Friday, so it can be worth comparing the same model on both sites.

Should I wait for a sale to buy a laptop?

If you can wait, set a price alert near the laptop's recent lowest price and let it notify you. If you need it now and today's price is close to its average, the saving from waiting may be small.
